Helen's practice includes the following areas:
Special education and student discipline. Helen represents student facing expulsion and is frequently able to achieve more favorable results. Helen also represents families addressing special education needs of students with disabilities and works collaboratively to resolve disputes with charter schools or school districts to insure that appropriate services are provided to each student.
Employment litigation or claims. Many clients consult Helen when they feel they have been treated unfairly at work. Perhaps they have been denied overtime pay, or meal or rest breaks. They may be the victims of wrongful termination. Or they may need help understanding and evaluating a proposed severance agreement. Helen can help in all of these instances.
Business advice for employers. Helen routinely consults with small employers on issues relating to compliance with relevant employment laws, including wage and hour law.
