AREAS OF SPECIALTY
Helen's practice includes the following areas:
♦ Employment Litigation. Many clients consult
Helen when they feel they have been treated unfairly at work. Perhaps
they have been denied overtime pay, or meal or rest breaks. They may be the
victims of wrongful termination. Or they may need help understanding and
evaluating a proposed severance agreement. Helen can help in all of these
instances.
♦ Individuals considering filing for bankruptcy
protection. Bankruptcy is an option for many individuals, yet
most bankruptcy attorneys assume that a client has decided to file for
bankruptcy when they first consult with an attorney. Helen prefers to
walk clients through the bankruptcy process, carefully explaining short and
long term benefits and risks, and doing what makes sense for them.
♦ Business advice and disputes. Helen has
years of experience in commercial litigation and pre-litigation counseling,
including contract claims, employment issues, litigation avoidance,
arbitration, mediation, and construction disputes. She has provided
advice to Fortune 100 companies as well as small locally owned businesses and
non-profits.
♦ Wills and related documents. Many clients do not
need complex estate planning documents. Helen focuses on preparing wills,
durable powers of attorney and health care directives for individuals and
families who have relatively small estates or who have clear and simple plans
for the distribution of their assetsand to provide these important
documents at an affordable cost.
